Lord Jesus Christ

Christ is shown with the traditional blessing hand raised. The wounded hands keep the focus on mercy rather than distance. The red and blue garments are a traditional way of pointing to Christ’s mystery: fully God and fully human. This icon is made for daily prayer in the middle of ordinary life. Something as simple as the : “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me.” is a big blessing. 

The inscription is in (Aramaic): (Moran Ishoʿ Mshiḥo) — “Our Lord and God Jesus Christ”
