For 2026, St. Ignatius Syriac Orthodox Church Ottawa lists Great Lent from February 23 to April 5. The Western U.S. Archdiocese calendar notes explain the rule: the great fast begins on the Monday seven weeks before the Resurrection.

Planning before the fast
